This was my a first purchase of a premium tank as I liked the sound of it, pretty much when I was still young to the game. When I found out about other tanks such as the IS-6, I often found myself regretting my decision as I did not want another T8 premium.
After an initial honeymoon with the tank I soon fell out with it, people questioned why choose a KV-5 when a KV-4 was better, it had a better gun and better armour (at least, frontally). I started to agree with them stopped playing with it. However over time, I managed to fall back in love with as I learned to play with its weaknesses.
And what fun it can be, the main aspects of it that appeal to me are its ROF, relative high speed for a heavy, ramming potential and strong rear and side armour.
So I have created this thread to capture some of the fun I have in this tank.
To kick it off, I begin with two matches I had tonight that demonstrates one of its main features. A strong rear.
The first match I get myself into a bad mess but manage somehow to scrape through. There is also a small demonstration of ramming, where a tank is giving chase to my rear, I brake and let him hit my rear, eating a chunk of his health.
The second match shows that even T9 can be confused.

Strong play in getting them to shoot at your angled rear! KV5 is quite easy from the front, but angled from the back many enemies will bounce your sides and rear. Really cool videos mate, hope to see many more

Thanks Quallo. Yesterday I managed to do one of my favourite things. Can you guess what happens on a hill? 816

More fun with my bum. Be interesting to hear from unhealth how it seemed to him, as I've never had a enemy bum fight me in another KV-5. i believe this is the second time I came across him in our T8s. The first time was a while back in Lost Temple.

Your crew must have had the 'Clean Underpants' consumable in order to to survive the first game. Nice display of reverse angling.

Thanks for the comments guys. Been a while since getting back into this tank as I have been levelling up med and td crew skills as my heavy skills are all recently maxed out at level 6.
Was a decent game despite being a bit rusty.

I haven't had time to play the last number of days, amazing how rusty you can get. Some KV-5 on KV-5 action and a nice number of bounces.

Hey karkwai. Great videos. Looks like a fun strategy using your bun. I'm not used to takeing it from behind and I'm a bit uneasy to think about it. ;-) I must say that I don't like it in the Ass but..... "U don't know if it's disgusting if U haven't tryed it" ---- that's what my boss always say! Joke aside. Thx for the very usefull strategy tip. It sure gives a stronger playstyle knowint that the behind can bounce that mutch ;-) Looking forward to our next KV5-toon

"U don't know if it's disgusting if U haven't tryed it" ---- that's what my boss always say! I used it with great success on Oasis Palms yesterday. Regretfully I didn't record that battle... My team decided town was the best way to go even though I knew they would be coming from the hill. Anyway I moved into town and as soon as enemys were spotted up by the belltower, I pushed my ass against a building pointing directly towards the enemy in a sidescraping position. Managed to kill off a T34 who really was gunning for me, but with some sidescraping he only get one shell into me. Same thing with the KV-4 and T29. I ended up dead in the end when I tried to rush a Panther but with 3k dmg and 3 kills it wasn't that bad.

Up to now (4 battles - lol ) 100% wins. This ass angled moving tactics works perfectly especially against those who like hopelessly to put loads of shells in kv5 .... Rear side. Preferential mm will help. In fact in 8-10 battles every tank or Td seems to have it, so I do not have much experience to share an opinion on that subject. Thanks to karkwai I know how to handle this tank properly. It seems to be a good tank though gun stats could be a little better. Good money earner. Reliable in combat, more than good armour. Can terrorize the battlefield if handled properly. Stronk rusky tenk and Stalin's fist.

Thanks Quallo. If only I had been a little sharper and not fumbled for an ammo change on the Cromwell and also attempted a snapshot between the buildings to finish of the IS. Then I would have regained my position on WoTBStars HoF by the merest of margins.
